Janet, thanks for the recent reminder about this!

Evil Queen? Intro Innocent Princess.

Handsome Prince? Intro Homely Commoner.

R&B-loving track star? Well, she has to fall for a classical bookworm, clearly...

After alll, evil vs good has been a winning formula for a reason, right? Simple and sweet. (or evil and satisfying...but then I've read your book...).

Great recap, Janet! I couldn't have put it better myselt. ;)

It was nice meeting you in sunny San Diego!

Aron, I recently read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and I think Larsen did an outstanding job creating really polarized characters. At times, the first book seemed slow to me - but the second and third (which I ordered from the UK because I couldn't wait) absolutely rocked.

I love this advice. It really struck a cord with me. I'm currently reading "The Girls with the Dragon Tattoo" and one thing he did right was get in lots of tension, and its intoxicating - I can't put it down. Once I do, I sag at the thought of how much my writing lacks this level of tension. The advice you've shared here will definitely help me kill that monster.
