Aron, I recently read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and I think Larsen did an outstanding job creating really polarized characters. At times, the first book seemed slow to me - but the second and third (which I ordered from the UK because I couldn't wait) absolutely rocked. Great recap, Janet! I'm currently reading "The Girls with the Dragon Tattoo" and one thing he did right was get in lots of tension, and its intoxicating - I can't put it down. Once I do, I sag at the thought of how much my writing lacks this level of tension. The advice you've shared here will definitely help me kill that monster. I love this advice.
